EJOT JT6-FR fasteners are manufactured from 316 (A4) grade austenitic stainless steel with a hardened carbon steel drill point welded to the stainless steel shank.
The 316 (A4) stainless fixing is typically used where the specification requires a higher corrosive resistance due to the local environment or nature of the building, this includes coastal/marine environments as well as food and chemical production facilities.
The FR range of fasteners are manufactured with low profile dome head which is a rounded top with a flat underside, they sit above work surfaces and tend to be used when requiring a more decorative finish.
FR fixings can be powder coated to colour match main façade for less visibility of the fixing head.
The hardened drill point enables the screw to drill carbon steel sections and by having the lead threads formed on this hardened point this allows for correct tapping at high drilling speed.
Where specified we recommend they are used with the S12 stainless steel / EPDM vulcanised sealing washer ensuring a safe seal every time.
These fasteners are zinc coated for aesthetic reasons and waxed to lubricate the surface during installation.
The fixing can fix into steel structures 1.2-12.0mm in thickness.
RJ offer a complete range of Ejot stainless steel fasteners for other external applications.
