RJ Facades standard soffit designs up to 400mm using L and T profiles to support most soffit materials. Assembly of aluminium parts using self-drilling stainless Ejot tek screws.

Soffit design is constructed using FEA software to calculate deflection and the bending moments in the components. Through this analysis it is possible to design non-standard soffits up to 800mm in depth.

Fixing into concrete soffits, is generally a fixing zone where the concrete is classified as ‘cracked’, unless otherwise specified by the project engineer.

Fixing into cracked concrete is an ETA, option 1 application, ranges such as; FAZ II through bolts or FBS II concrete screws would generally be specified by RJ Facades technical department.

It is also possible to use standard helping hand brackets if preferred.

Where the soffit boards are joined together, either the 110mm, or the 60mm faced T rail, provides the correct dimensions to all the major board manufacturers specification, relating to surface area in contact with the panel, and movement joint between the abutting panels.

Depending on the material type, generally support rails are set at 500mm to 600mm - for centre panel support generally use the L rail 60x40mm section.

Bracket and profile configuration is specified by RJ Facades technical department. To submit your project specifics please go to Facade Designer.

The UL Certification covers the full range of brackets and accessory components. The aluminium and stainless EVT brackets and components are manufactured and fabricated in Europe and the UK at UL audited manufacturing sites.

    The Approval Covers

A detailed overview of the certified products

    Technical specification of the products

An initial assessment of the certified company's factory production control systems.

    Design considerations

A review of the products documentation to help demonstrate compliance with the applicable requirements of the UL Scheme.

An assessment of the certified products contribution to any key requirement of the building regulations.

An overview of the certified companies product installation requirements and procedures.

An overview of all supporting test documentation used for the product evaluation.

Ongoing surveillance of the certified company's factory production control system and procedures.

The conditions under which this product certification is valid.

  • Technical Characteristics
  • Typical bracket configuration uses the Fixed Point bracket at the highest position on the vertical rail to support the façade vertical dead loads. The Sliding Point bracket is used typically on all other positions on the vertical rail to absorb the project wind loading

The system benefits from using a standard helping hand system, which is interchangeable with other RJ Facades helping hand systems based on the project requirements.

Bracket and profile configuration is specified by RJ Facades technical department. To submit your project specifics please go to Facade Designer.

RJ Facades offer one of the UK's largest range of Helping Hand brackets which have been designed to help achieve the the required U-Value while helping to support the facade system going back to the backing wall.

Project thermal calculations to confirm insulation thickness available on a project by project basis.

RJ Facades design issued by the our technical department can be covered by Product and design insurance if required.

System components available in AutoCAD and PDF downloads.

RJ Facades offer a standard, available ex stock UK, range that covers most design requirements.

All rails available to specific RAL colours in Qualicoat on an order to order basis.
